F.A.Q.'s

What do you provide?
If you are close by, come in for an assessment and protocol or rehabilitation recommendations. If you are at a distance, I can arrange a phone consult and also make very useful targeted and individualized protocol recommendations.
How many sessions?
Depends on the severity, number of problems, duration or symptoms, and brain-map if needed. Twice a week min. for first two months. 30-40 sessions min. for minor issues.
When do I see results?
Results usually occur within 10 sessions and they last when course is complete.
What Causes Brain Trauma?
The technology shows us that concussions do more than we thought they did! Also: brain trauma, oxygen deprivation, emotional stress and trauma, high fevers, infections, viruses, toxemia, LYME, environmental neurotoxins, and especially after several of these occur.
Do Insurance Companies Reimburse?
Most P.P.O.s will reimburse for a number of sessions and significantly towards the brain-map
What is a brain-map and is it necessary?
A quantitative e.e.g. is a detailed look at function of the brain done by leading clinical researchers in the field. It picks up subtle changes in blood flow that may be interfering with function. It helps us to know what's really going on. Not everyone needs one if the symptoms are mild. Most people end up needing on if they are depressed, have many symptoms, or multiple disabilities.
Are there any side effects to the neurofeedback?
Neurofeedback is one of the safest rehab methods available. It should be done by a skilled professional with a lot of experience with your problem. For example, experts with children should work on children, or with learning disabilities, Lyme, etc.
Like any rehab, you need to find someone not only skilled but highly recommended. Use your judgment when choosing someone. It can't fix all your problems, but with the right technician, it's amazing what can be done. Other therapies that may have plateaued, usually take off after it's been done. One size and one protocol does not fit all brains. Customize your protocol with brain-mapping and your results are much faster and better.
Can the brain heal itself?
With a little boost, yes it can! Click before and after Brain SPECT images here: http://amenclinics.com/bp/spect_rotations/
